Got a nice price too, 8000€, minus 1250€ I got from my 15j old toyota.

The diesel engine reacts totally different then the 1.3i from the Corolla, the cdti really peaks in between 2500rpm and 4000rpm where the acceleration is more in a lineair way with the gasoline engine. Even though this car has 150pk, it's not that fast, 0-100km/h in 10s. The turbo does a lot to the performance, the part where the turbo has no effect the car becomes very slow. 1st gear is really weird, no acceleration, with the corolla I could drive RPM up to 6k and then shift to 2nd gear and get instant accelaration again, not with the vectra. It's a lot more luxury, less sportive.

problem is the automatic, nu amount of power will make that one more responsive...

the C70 will probably only last for so long, as with the kid coming, it isn't that practical, so w'll have to change<.
(S4 avant, cayenns hybrid?)

if you get 0>100 in 10sec with 150BHP, don't expect much for a €700 chiptuning to 180BHP.

with 136BHP in the Audi it does 9.7 to 100.
it takes 240BHP to make it do it in 6.7

You got that right, automatics used by Volvo are totally outdated for the moment. Compared to a decent Benz, BMW or VAG automatic gearbox at least. I rather enjoyed test driving the DSG 7 gearbox.

I'm a bit of a Volvo guy, so my next one will be an XC60 or XC70 I think. If money's not an immediate concern I think I'll take the X5 over any other SUV though. I wouldn't go for A6's : they have just been facelifted but still lack the comfort of the Mercedes E (new model coming very soon) or BMW 5. The Cayenne is old (and looks old imo) already, wouldn't go for that either. Q7 is f-ugly! Q5 is nice looking but a little overpriced, certainly compared to the Q7 or X5-ML.

Yes, I was never taking it into consideration, just being curious. I'd rather drive the 3.0 V6 Vectra with chip tuned up to 220hp, will drive a lot smoother I presume

and I know the cayenne looks old now but an updated cayenne S hybrid could be nice if the restyling is a bit more agressive
and it's so (NOT) Green
