Sorry for the dutch link; the last year Belgium decided to charge crazy high sums for speeders , we're talking 3-4 figures.. starting 31/03 they are reverting to less exaggerated fines. :)

They'll probably find another way to get more money :D .
They even have a nice trick for it (learned it today at a visit in the new "justitiepaleis" (court?). We've folowed some cases at the police court on the first row :king: and some dronk guy got a fine of E200*5.5 .
The 5.5 is a factor to make the changes in fines more easily (in stead of rewriting every fine).
So, change it to 5.6 and you win 10% on every fine.

Ow, ps; in 2001 it was only 5.

What will happen if people start riding donkeys instead? :)

09/03 Pay for ride with rest on dike

Rest must prison in
