Active noise cancellation has been around for over 20 years. I first learnt about this science when I was still working in the Hearing Aid Industry. Simply by reversing the sound wave making it out of phase electronicaly. Needless to say, one must understand the white noise existence in his/her environment.

Air movement is required to cool our processors whether you use water, 100% air cool heatsink or vapor chill; air cooling radiator, condenser or directly onto the heatsink makes no difference. The higher the CFM the higher the noise.

Hopefully, a tiny device can be installed in your PC to cancel out the fan noise. Since, the fan noise is more constant than human voice relative to frequency, the day to see this device should not be far away if processor thermal loss continues to grow as speed and number of core increase.

I heard they install such a device once in a Lamborghini; the driver could no longer hear the engine; he blew it up after 30 minutes of driving in the red
