if I find the time...
I just played about 5 minutes, now it's back off to work...
first impressions?
the game needs polishing...
I get framedips at 1024*768 2*aa, 8*af (and I think it's okay visually but far from perfect at that setting) and all advanced settings at medium, framedips to 4-5 fps when there's firefights...

we'll need nextgen for 1280*1024 max detail + 4*fsaa-16*af continual 50+fps playing

use fraps, it's a frame calculating/analyzing tool

@ silencer : you have to know that if you say : 'placed everything on max' that some people are gonna laugh a bit... it is simply IMPOSSIBLE to get everything on max and play the game fluently...
what was your resolution?
what was your anisotrophic fioltering?
what was your antialiasing?
all advanced settings on max?

my settings : 3.53 ghz p4@ 2.5 fsb, radeon 9800 pro as usual at 500/800. 22000 3dmarks.
everything on medium.
1024*768 2*aa, 8*perfo af.
I played 30 minutes in my afternoon break
2004-01-21 12:41:51 - FarCry
Frames: 290603 - Time: 2035109ms - Avg: 142.794 - Min: 3 - Max: 641.
average 143 fps... you'd think that classifies as a fluent experience... but to me it actually isn't... there are slowdowns to 10-15 fps...

I have a problem however... I can hear the music, my sounds, but I don't hear enemy firing/steps/noise...
does anybody else have these problems too?

on my pc de demo looks like crap
lotsa artifacts and stuff
gonna reinstall the demo and vidcard drivers again to see if something changes
if no bleh bleh and once again bleh

vidcard drivers did the trick
stweinge everything else worked flawless
well i still have to play a little longer to judge the demo
for now it seems nice though the green is not really natury in my humble opinion
