Wireless keyboard troubles

Hello hello,

I've got a Logitech Cordless desktop optical keyb/mouse combo.
But now all of a sudden, my keyb doesn't work anymore.

My mouse still works so it can't be the receiver.
With new batteries in my keyb i'm still not able to type. Not in bios/dos/win/linux/...
But the strange thing is: when i boot my pc it doesn't give the expected "keyboard not found" error. it just boots normally.

Someone here who can help me? :bash:

probably a error with the keyboard itself.
You get no error because the keyboard isn't attached to the PC, the receiver is. This tell the PC there is a keyboard, but it's getting no input.

BTW, the idea that the reciever isn't defective because the mouse still works is wrong. It apparently has different reciever parts for each device.
Not much you can do. Get good batteries, RECONNECT (most forgotten) receiver fist, then the keyboard. Try USB/PS2.
If all fails, RMA it.

i allready tried with new batteries and i pushed the reconnect buttons to set up a new synchronized connection between receiver and keyboard.

I only see phone numbers on the logitech pages.
somebody got an emailaddress where i can ask to RMA my stuff.

I know that it has to go to swiss, and you'll have to cut the PS2/USB connectors off.
But you will get a new set.

This is what i call customer support!

I mailed to Logitech and the next day i already got a response.
And what's more, it was a usefull response.
The working solution is:

1. Make sure the receiver is connected to the pc and (re)boot.
2. Get the batteries out of your wireless device.
3. Push the connect button on the receiver for approximately 20 seconds.
4. Leave the batteries out of your device for at least 30 minutes.
5. Place the batteries batteries back into your device.
6. Press the connect button on the receiver.
7. Press the connect button on the wireless device.

This worked, but don't ask me why. :D
