Default problems running TFC 2 on laptop

Hey guys

I have a rather big problem running team fortress 2 on my dell laptop, first the specs

intel core 2 duo 1.2 GHZ
2GB dual channel DD2 ram
8600M gt video chip
running on win vista x86

I'm using an upgraded driver from laptopvideo2go.com because the official Nvidia drivers don't work with the 8600m GT mobile chip. I usually play for like half an hour then i get this graphic error and then i have to close out of TFC2 in the task manager. Anyone know what the problem might be? or if others are having a similar problem?

I've also run other games on the laptop without this kind of problem, bioshock, guild wars, stalker, they all run fine for hours. I also have this trouble with half life 2 and portal.

The Source engine is having issues on same HW config, you can read more about that in these forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...splay.php?f=80

beside latest vga card drivers, there is nothing much you can do.

btw it's TF2, not TFC 2

might be a heat problem, try monitoring temps using I8Kfangui ( http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html )
