| problem with instlling windows on SATA HD I push the F6 button to "install a non-microsoft ... " and then I install the driver for my SATA HD. Wen that's done some files are being loaded and then the screen becomes black with a white cursor flashing in the top left corner. Then the actual windows setup should begin. In my case the whole thing hangs on the black screen, and the only thing I can do is reset. Any advice ? (also on shrimp) tnx !! |

| Did you enable the sata - raid controller in the bios ? Can you access the disk during boot-up (ctrl H for sata bios, not sure though) Can you access the sata disk with a system disk ? Is it properly formatted ?

| Cable select, for a SATA driver??? Anyway, try starting windows without pressing F6, and see if you can get any further. The point your windows hangs, it has to come out of first file copy (loading of drivers for all kinds of stuff) into the actual setup. It may just be something else that causes your windows to hang at that point. (memory, CPU ...) |
