Pentium D Overclocking

Recently a friend of mine bought a new Dell and had his old Pentium D system set aside. I asked him if I could take it home and see if I could tweak it out a bit. However, I own two AMD64 systems myself and have never had any Intel over clocking experience. Now I know things work a bit different with Intel and AMD especially when it comes down to memory and such. I just have a few questions regarding intel overclocking. For one, his motherboard is an Intel using the 865 chipset. It's a Pentium D 805 IRRC. However, his ram is only DDR and only DDR-333 (PC-2700) at that. Will the ram speed have a significant effect on the overclocking performance of CPU, FSB wise?

check to see if you can run ram async at lower speed then FSB, then you stand a good chance

Bah! The motherboard has about 0 overclocking options =P

how exactly did you plan to "tweak" it then;) that cpu is capable of 3.6ghz easily btw with the right mobo

Well I wasn't aware of the fact that the motherboard didn't support overclocking at the time. However, the graphics card can still be overclocked, and some little tweaks here and there can increase the performance. Not to mention the case it's in and the noise it makes. Some work left to do with it ;)

BTW: You mind naming a few of thoes "right mobo[s]" that are capable of producing such an oc (3.6) that also have AGP support? What type of chipsets do they use? VIA?
