a while ago i was playing a game zhen suddenly my screen faded to black.first i tought it was just my screen , but i saw that my pc was hanging , kinda like a freez but then a load-freez (pretty name isnt it? ;p)

when i reboot, my pc keeps doing something (orange light thingie that is burning and cd-drive that is being checked)
the only problem about this is that it doesnt stops , my cd-drive keeps running constantly (no blinking light just a constant orange dot) and my screen doesnt give anything at all

i have no idea what this is plz help me :)

disconnect ALL drives, including their powerconnectors (HD, FD, CD, ....), remove ALL extra cards so you've only got your VGA-card plugged in, disconnect reset-switch, leds, ....

then you should only have your basic components left, see what it does, if problem stays the same, change VGA-card, mem, PSU

my guess is that your MB is fuxored

The advise that came from moddin manson was good but some remarks.

When your pc is booting it will make beeps you can recognize a problem by listening to the beeps your pc makes. They should be explaind in the mobo manual.

Example : When your pc makes the sound of an ambulance you can be sure your cpu is the problem

when you hear one long and the two short beeps most of the time it's your memory

so if you look and listen you can find a problem whitout turning your pc in to a wreck.

RTFM my dear friend.

(just noticed this yesterday srry :))
