| [IRQL not less or equal] Random rebooting Config: MoBo: Gigabyte GA-8KNXP CPU: P4 3,06 Ghz FSB: 800 (4x200) CPU FAN: Zalman 7000 CU Mem:2 x 512Mb Kingston DDR 400 (Kingston KVR400X64C3/512) OS:WinXP SP1 Video Card: a good old “Geforce3 ti 200” AGE: CPU+Memory+Mobo are +/- 5 months or so, the warranty is still ok as I haven't overclocked anything...yet. Problem: Random reboot as soon as windows starts to preload or during active windows session. Problem doesn't occur when I'm inside the Bios (monitoring heat & fans).. Error message before rebooting: IRQL not less or equal STOP: 0X0000000A Already tried the following with no positive results: *Changed HDD with a clean WinXP on it *Changed PSU *Unmounted all PCI cards(and tested them one by one) *Changed IDE cables *Changed Geforce 3 with Geforce 4 *Cleaned and checked all fans *Monitoring all fans and CPU & PSU for power surges – None found *Monitoring heat and performance – CPU seems fine and the Zalman cooler doesn’t indicate any problem here… *Removed the DPS card (dual power supply card) from the Gigabyte Mobo, didn’t change a thing. *The Mobo led monitoring the DDR memory indicates everything is working fine Question: If there are people out there that can give me more ideas that‘ll push me in the right direction of fixing this thing I’d really appreciate it. You can reply or PM in English/Dutch/Flemish/French.. Thanks! |

| CPU: P4 3,06 Ghz FSB: 800 (4x200) ==> 3.0 Ghz ? try running memtest 86 (google it), it's a very memory intensive test, and if that part generates errors...

| Ran MemTest86 from bootable floppy, didn't come up with any errors at all.. At least the DDR is not broken, that's cool. I removed all pci cards/additional fans/unplugged internal connectors(firewire, usb, audio) and tried to start from scratch, with only the GeForce4, 1 clean HDD and the P4 connected to the Mobo. As soon as the windowsXP setup starts copying protocols for the Mobo, it ****s up and reboots. So, I assume the problems come from a module on the Mobo. Are there any apps out there that can do individual test on certain Mobo chips? Or tests like MemTest86 but designed to check the CPU? If not, I'll run back to the store and ask for a replacement. |

| Try 1x512 with lowest memory settings. If not, install W2K. Not ranting but i didn't succeed in making XP stable on my home box ... no matter what i tried, but W2K works flawless. Still no luck => rma mobo

| Update: Just to let you guys know that the Mobo has been tested in the shop where it came from, ran some benchmarks and it came out fine, so no glitch in the Mobo. I've now returned my CPU for testing... |
