Icon1 Intel D915PBL, and Core 2 Duo

I'm currently building my first computer, and have come up against a wall of sorts. I have the Intel D915PBL Motherbard, and have combined it with the Intel Pentium D Processor. The Motherbard supports Pentium 4 Processors, up to the Hyper-Threading technology, but I need to know whether or not it can support the Core 2 Duo Processor. I have all of the components installed, including the 512MB Nvidia 6-Series PCI-E graphic card and Processor. When I power up the system, the motherbard doesn't have a VGA port for the monitor, so I'm having to use the Nvidia card, but nothing happens. The system is on, no beeps, but no picture. What is my next step?
