Green screen when playing video's

Since a few weeks or so, I can't view mpg, avi, wmv, ...-files anymore. Just by clicking, that is. I only see a green screen than but the sound is ok. There is a way to make it work, though: If I open my Pinnacle Video suite and leave it in the background, everything works fine. I already tried to reinstall windows media player but no result. It's not just my windows media player 11. The same green screen also appears in ACDSEE, Creative Media Player, DiVX, even Pinnacle sometimes shows this green screen.

Anyone has a suggestion to solve the prob???

grtzzz

You've tried to re-install media player, but have you tried to update/re-install your codecs? I don't use Windows provided codecs. I use k-lite mega codec pack. Or you could also try using VLC Media player which contains it's own set of codecs.

might be a problem with your vga-drivers too

ok, I installed the K-lite codec pack and it works fine untill now. I haven't tested a lot yet but it seems ok now. Thank you very much.
I was also thinking that it could be my vga driver caus I installed the latest driver from Nvidia and I guess that at that point the problems started.
