freezing problem

Hi
i have this problem for a while now, but it gets me crazyerand crazyer.

So here's the situation. I'm working in my pc, nothing special (no photoshop or something, just firefox or inet expl) and my msn messenger is on. Everythime when someone says something to me, my pc freezes for a a minut, and it depends on how many people say something to me. and also when the screen is still in the tray, and someone says somethings, it freezes..., is this a software or hardware problem? how can i solve this (without a format?):wtf:

Have you tried removing the program and done a resinstall?

yes, i tried this severall times, and it doesnt help, and i have the same problem with the "msn instant messenger (delivered in windows) and now i cant get connected anymore...

that messenger doesn't work either? On my mothers and brothers pc, the msn works, and also my msn acount.
Is it possible that there's an ip or port blocked?
