FDISKing a new SATA drive?

I'm gonna be happily receiving a new Athlon 64 tomorrow with a new motherboard and hard drive. I've heard that drivers need to be installed before it will recognise the hard drive as its a SATA. I want to be able to split the drive in 2 before i install Windows. Can someone advise me how to do this? Does the windows set up give you the option to do this?

Cheers.

Wen the setup launches, it will ask to press F6 so you can install SCSI drivers.
Just wait and then it will ask if you want to install a controller. Press E , insert the floppy w/ the drivers if it asks to, press enter, select the right driver, enter and let setup continue.

My windows setup didn't need any drivers...

Wait and see ;).

But will the windows set up actually let me choose partitions for the drive?

yes, while installing you can divide your disk in partitions.

nforce4 (maybe 3 too) fake the sata controllers as ide controllers, so no drivers are needed when installing windows. When windows is installed, you just intall the sata drivers and the ide controllers are replaced by sata controllers.
