Right click "My Computer" -> select "manage" -> in left column click "disk manager"

in the overview you will have your disks, under each name there will be "basic disk" or "dynamic disk" , unless you activated it, they will all be basic afaik

Try running the recovery console (boot WinXP cd -> recover) and try fixboot
