Default DFI = junk

found out what's wrong:

top quality, really

I bought my stuff at bytes@work and I have to say, the follow up is very good. I even got a mail asking if my order arrived and if it was ok. I'm not used to this sort of service.

the board costs ~249€ and the 1.6 costs 235€. it's the only dothan they have in their line-up though.

I would however advise you to go for the Aopen board. I'm not saying this because of my very recent experiences with the DFI :grum: . I'm saying this because of everything I read about the subject on XS.

you can get the Aopen and every dothan in the line-up at crazycamel. I have no experience with them but a few friends of mine have and they also provide very good service.

This is all I can show for the dothan :

P-M 1.6 dothan @ 140 fsb 16 multi 2240mhz 2.5-3-3-7 gskill 2 sticks of 512 mb SC

Not that I there's an inquisition going on here (like on some other fora) but just for reference:

- no SSE patches were used.
- I didn't edit the text file.
- not a single windows tweak was used, just a clean install with the necessary tools.
- the reason I don't have all the loops showing in the screen together with all the verification from other tools is simple: I didn't exactly expect to end up with a blown trace
- whatever I may have forgotten, in short, I didn't cheat, you'll just have to take my word for it.

*edit* link fixed

btw, this beats my P4c 2.8 M0 @ ~4gig
