| Ok, small update: - SuperPI: no problems but I don't see a loop function in SuperPI? - Pc Mark04: OK. - 3DMark01 SE: crash to desktop during the second loop. - Prime95: crash after a few minutes. Damn, something is definatly wrong here, but I don't see a patern in the crashes! MemTest86+ went perfect, Pc Mark04 gave no errors but almost all the other tests and most new 3D-games crash horribly. I'm starting to think it's not my memory but rather my mobo or powersupply. Damn. |

| power supply can be a culprit, but then it would also show in Memtest86+

| Not to make matter more confused as it has already: Back to basic: 1) CPU temp; system temp? 2) Set everything to default or SPD 3) Check 12v; 3.3v;5v readings

| Pff alright, I have good and bad news I decided to call a friend of mine to convince him to stop playing Half Life 2, open his computer, take out his memory and let me put his memory in my pc. The results: -1x Apacer 256mb ram pc2100 in DIMM3: works like a charm. Memtest and Prime95 show no sign of errors. -2x Apacer 256mb ram pc2100 in DIMM3 and 4: error and crashes galore! -1x Corsair 512mb ram pc3200XL Pro (my ram) in DIMM3: once again, solid as a rock! (Prime95 is still running even as we speak). Conclusion: I'm 99% sure it's my motherboard, to be more precise: the dual-channel doesn't work right, I think. (both for my ram and my friends' memory) I already contacted my hardware seller (tones.be) to ask for a replacement. It's still in garanty so I guess this problem will be relativily easy solved. Beats me why MemTest86+ didn't give any error during the full test! I still have to thank you for the help guys! I'm much obliged! |

| Memtest86+ is a memory tester, not necassary there to spot motherboard errors contact MSI directly also please with your detailed explanation above, also mentioned the BIOS you are using, and say that you reinstalled the OS from scratch also. if you like, put me in cc: (jmke@madshrimps.be) ; for Benelux the contacts are in the Netherlands afaik, www.msi.nl tech support
