Motherboard is epox 8KDA3I nF3 250. And yes,i have CD ROM.I tried to install RAID drivers(formated floppy disc inserted, data copied from CD ROM to floppy),but F6 is still not responding(untill yesterday afternoon, before i removed PATA,keyboard was o.k.).What to do? Do i have to use some of Maxtor diagnostic/utility tools? How to "bypass" F6,if possible?

Not helped-problem remains even with new keyboard-no F6&no winXP installation.I tried my friends XP(other version)-nothing helped. Someone experienced with installation of Maxstor's SATA HDD on Epox MOBO based system?! I'm sure that i'm not the only one with that/similar problem!!!

try connecting the keyboard vi P/S2 if it's connected with USB now. That might help. What JM says is true, you'll need to pre load the drivers for the SATA controller (doesn't have to be raid) into the windows installer otherwise it won't find your drives. Are you sure you are pressing the F6 key on time, it's the first blue screen of the windows installer, and it will just move on even if you don't do anything. So there re no other question on it. It just tells you to push F6 in a grey bar near the bottom if you need it..

Both keyboards was connected via P/S2.To find keyboard via usb,and try again?I downloaded SATA drivers from Epox official site-useless(nF3 SATA drivers&mass storage controler-tool for identification&managing HDD's over 137GB).Both was required for installation by winXP.Also i tried to install win2000-F6 stopped me again.I noticed one more thing:if i continue installation after F6 dialog box( yes, first bliue screen FreeStyler, after that is option F2-microsoft recovery console, right,(and F2 is working without problems!!!),then win. are warning me about "CD/DVD,HDD,SCSI orther unknown device attached"(or somethinhg like that),asking me manufacturers floppy to be inserted for proper identification of device.System recognize drivers, both marked as "required",then i choosed them for instalalation, then everything was perfect,as i said in my previous posts, untill first reboot."error loading op.system".FROZEN PC!!!! Is there any chance that HDD is damaged? Thanks FreeStyler for your post.Did you had ever similar problems,or knowing someone with'em?
