Default Black & white output

After a long period i retried to use the TV-monitor as output for home made videos, DivX, DVD, ...

Connection = S-video
Monitor settings = Pal B - 50 Mhz
TV = primary output

graca = Ati 8500 DV

I read a bunch of tutorials (even have them printed in my archive) and followed them step by step.

Everything works fine (TV - output is very detailed, movies + images look very crisp, sound = excellent), except for the TV-output being black & white.

... something i overlooked ?

Still B&W.
Switching set off and on doesn't work.
Pal-M requires bios flash with experimental bios. But i shouldn't need that, it should work "out of the box".
Maybe i can switch to a coaxial cable to connect pc & tv ... or buy (yet another) cable: s-video + 2 audio ===== scart

One pluspoint: i discouvered "theatre mode", playing a movie on the pc automatically displays the movie fullscreen on the tv.

make sure you don't have cinch connection selected. It should autodetect (then again windows should be bugfree), but might be bugged (hey where did I see that before).
Cinche sends all data over 1 channel, s-vhs goes over 2: one for brightness and one for color.
could be defective cable/connection/card/TV...

Changed s-video + 2 cinch by:
3 cinch - 3 cinch (+ scart adapter)

Works like a charm, image & colors are sharp & vivid ... impecable quality

well (working) s-video should give you even better quality.
