Default Best weblog / publishing soft

I've tried some free Apache - PHP - Mysql distro's.

Requirements :
- easy setup & layout & administration
- possibility to insert PHP-code (connection to Mysql)
- file manager
- link manager
- pop3 email + simple adressbook (if possible, can do without them)
- modest news / comment system
- search function
- has to be 100% reliable

Findings :

Typo3
Looks very professional but i'll need a handbook to work with it. Spend 45' just trying to set up 1 page.
... ditched

Drupal
Looks like it can do all things i require. Played with all the things i need, everything works "almost" all of the time. I'm kinda hesitant to work with it as it is a smaller project and some smaller bugs are still present.

e107
(tested because of jmkeoc uses it)
Cannot create a menu item with php-code in it to work properly. As this is the main goal of the webpublishing project, i cannot use e107.

postnuke
Install - Setup - inserted 3 PHP-pages - changed all kinda settings : under 15'
For me this one looks the best. But i have to do some homework for customizing the module - setup and how to setup a modest file-manager. No pop3-email possibilities apparently.

Other suggestions or remarks ?

uhm what kind of menu / php driven thing do you want to in PHP ?
because it is possible to insert PHP code in e107 by using "modules"

PHP = mysql selects
No "modules" in administration menu, just "menu" and "custom menu" ... cannot insert php code in these.

ah mistaken the name: "plugin manager" it is, there you can add your own creations.

but the e107 is far from mature, there are bugs when editing articles and other minor faults.

go with Postnuke, much more mature and has been around longer!

Tested different freeware groupware applications.

Most of them are very good products. For me the "moregroupware" project fitted best and was the most easy installation/configuration. Only the planning of recurring appointments/tasks was too limited in the scheduler.

The business version of groupware :

But i moved away from groupware because i need a connection to the existing database and no project offers that. And as i've almost tailor-fitted everything to my needs (mysql + php ain't terribly difficult) i've no need for groupware-projects.
