thé thread was started in english my dear friends

the 2 different types of washers are for use with 2 different kinds of motherboards, most people will have to use the smaller ones (flat) cause they have smaller holes around the socket

the Alpha PAL8942 for P4 is pretty easy to install, just make sure you have enough contact between heatsink & cpu

Erm Guys, P4 has thermal throtteling.
It's quite possible for it to have the same temp with a better cooler.
It will just be working faster

starts from 70°C and up

experienced it first hand when I wrongly installed a Volcano 7+ on my P4 2.26ghz, as soon as I started Prime95 the CPU temp went to 75°C+ and the whole system became slower then my P1 200MMX

on some motherboards you can decide when the therm. throttle kicks in & how much % it will slow down
