| 7800GTX SLi "Code 10" on one card Hi, I have two 7800GTX256's in my rig that used to work in SLi some time ago (right off the bat when I assembled the system even). After a while, I let someone borrow one of the cards, stuck it back in without a problem, let him borrow it again, and ever since that second time, it failed. The one card my screen isn't plugged into gives me a "Device Cannot Start (code 10)" error in device manager. Now, I know for a fact that both cards work separately in two different comps, but I cannot test SLi on the other one because of its psu (AC Silentium, so psu is stuck in there). I'm pretty sure it's not a power problem in my rig. I have plugged in both power connectors on the cards, both on the mobo (4 pin powersupply at the top, near cpu and a molex near the vidcards). The changes I have made to the hardware are:
The rig: Asus A8N32-SLi AMD A64 4000+ 2GB OCZ DDR400 (Platinum 2-3-2-5 methinks. or something) Tagan 480W U22 WD Raptor 74GB two fans in psu, one on cpu, two in case, two on the cards. I'm really out of tricks. Anyone have any suggestions apart from selling the lot and getting a good single card? |

| I can't even see anything related to SLi in there... I have this one screen with a list of IRQ's but I'm not touching it (never did) and it worked before on default settings. |

| Turns out the SLi forums on nvidia's site are riddled with threads about this. Guess I'll have to try every driver nvidia made starting from the ones I got on the driver disks. Hoping those will still work... :'( To all you folks with SLi: watch out when you update your vid card/nforce drivers , note the ones that do work before u try... Support just accidentally vanishes as new GPU chips hit the stores, or so it seems. |
