you really don't have to remove the Zalman from your mobo, the only cooler I would remove is the CM Hyper6.. that's the only one..

Yep I read about its weight - the good thing is that it has a special RETENTION BRACKET - which can also be bought seperatily - but i don't think you need for the zalman ej ?

nope, if your mobo cant handle that weight its prob made of paper. BTW, the cooler is not very high.

Depends on how far you go; and the road condition. Here in Mid-West U.S.A. the roadways are pretty beat up with winter salting the road to melt snow. And, we have a lot of snow.

I have had NB heatsink came off; and popped out MCX. I normally put them flat down on cushion. But, I carry 5 to 6 systems everytime to go to show. The stand up unit happened to have the Swiftech on. The NB that came off was from another system.

By the way, it is not the matter of how many layer PCB or how thick/strong the board is made of; the weak links are the hooks and retention mechanism.

For bolt thru board mount; you should have no problem unless you car hit a huge hole. Also, the weight limitations are good for Dell, HP, Gateway type OEM complete system packing/shipping requirement.
