In my BIOS, all multipliers below 13 are available, but when i decrease my multiplier, the CPU won't POST any more and i have to clear CMOS and restart. What's the reason for this? Weren't all T'Bred B's unlocked out of the box?
Anyone who knows the solution to this?

Yup, well the one before. But the only update on the last one is the RAID-controller, which i don't have. I checked on some other forums, and most people with this chip get to 2200-2300 Mhz (some higher). But my guts tell me mine still has quite a way to go...

For the unlocking thingy, suppose it's unlocked out of the box, do you still need to connect some bridges or other stuff to actually be able to use other multipliers?

Hmm, something else... at the moment my northbridge is being cooled by the Zalman northbridge cooler, just some bigass heatsink. Could this cause my problem? Temp inside the case after couple of hours of Prime95 is 27.

tsjek whether it's hot or not
mounted such a Zalman on my config yesterday (stock fan was too loud)

it's not too hot on my workbench, when my mobo is mounted into a case I'll put the stock fan on it @ 5 or 7V

that little bit of airflow really improves the temps

I stuck a little temp sensor to the side of the heatsink. Not quite accurate, but just to get an idea. 5 minutes ago it wasn't hot, but wasn't cold either. Something in between....

At the moment it's reading 34 degrees.
