Xp 1800+ Jiuhb Oc

Im currently running a XP 1800+ JIUHB with a Zalman CNPS 7000 modded to fit a AMD XP CPU.

It's currently running 2000MHz (2400+) @ 1.7V @ 32°C in prime95 test 400 (and counting).

Motherboard in an epox 8RDA+, running at 166FSB and 12* multiplier. the northbridge is actively cooled by a hercules cooler (the one from the 9700 series) and I stuck some heatsinks to the voltage regulators with some double sided tape. Southbridge is cooled by the ex-northbridge passive cooler.
Memory is some kingston cas2.5 Pc 2700 BGA running 2.5-2-2-4, synch. It did 2-2-2-3 stable at 133fsb.

We're running test 900 right now, and still stable at 32°C.

I am going to lower the fan speed of the northbridge cooler, as it's a bit high pitched, and vibrating (2 fan blades broke off, I glued them back on)
and the fanmate will be installed to since it's pushing loads of air.

Hmmm, this baby can go higher....

did you find the "ronddellekes" to fit the CNPS 7000 ? :)
any pictures of that mod? :)

I used 2 standoff mounts from a matrix case screwed togerther.
I screwed those into 2 opposing holes around the socket, used some spacers from a matrix case to insulate them.
Finally screwed the cooler onto these, carefully, untill my thread was out.
I think it's way more then AMD recommended pressure, and definitly WAY more then the max recommended weight.

I added another 0.5 multiplier, I now got an XP 2600+ :p

Won't go any further however, the systems boots into "safe mode" at 100MHZ *11.5 whenever I go above 13*. It doesn't seem to be a limit of any component, but rather a bug in the 13+ multi.

anyone know anything about this ??

12.5x + multipliers aren't unlocked on the TbredB lowend XP's
only the lower ones are..

LOL

guess you're not the only one :)

And how do we do that.

lemme guess, buy PC 3200 memory. (looks in empty pocket)

nah it'll do for the moment, an XP 2600+ for the price of an 1800+

Anyway, it spent the night on prime95
no errors and 34°C after 11 hours, 58 minutes.

Pifast 100k digits in 0.23 seconds
1 million digits in 3.44 seconds
10 million digits in 57.84 seconds (hmm 13 megs of PI on my HD)

love OC

Suxx0rz

but mine was just a 10 minute job.
Most of it was to cut the bottom so it would fit over the socket.

To bad I don't have a metal workshop.

jmke 20th April 2003 12:04

not yet :grr: ;)

FreeStyler 20th April 2003 15:59

justifies the evil grin.

Nah, I'm already breathing to much metal dust to be healthy.
not to mention the stuff blowing into my hardware.

FreeStyler 20th April 2003 22:26

Owke, it freaked out at 175 FSB.

I'm going to try to reduce the CAS latency of my memory to see if I can stabilize it.
If not then 170 *12.5 is about the limit.

Gives 1555 3d mark scores with a vanilla Ti4200 from Aopen, onboard sound (nforce) and 512MB memory.
