Default Underclocking?

Can anyone explain to me what use underclocking has?

Someone told me about underclocking the other day and I had no idea such a thing existed. Does it actually have a use?

It extends battery life, lowers heat, and also saves on the electric bill.

ps. lower heat = less noise . Underclocked hardware also lasts longer, but you'll probably never notice the difference.

that's not true "per se", it's true that overclocked and overvolted CPUs can have decreased life.

check the "similar threads" at the bottom of this page for more underclocking experiments.

anyway, I have a feeling this new user account is fake/spam purposes
