search "peltier"

mucho info, very informational:)

kristos 5th November 2004 23:03

You know the way to XS and XR, there should be plenty of info there.

some excellent info here also:
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...play.php?f=182

and this may help a little on where to get isolation materials; unfortunately, I haven't had much time to look around for these things because it costs way more if you have to buy it from a pc shop...

oh and you probably already know but you can use vaseline instead of dielectric grease but it becomes more fluid when it gets warm so it may run into slots and stop your hardware from working, it will usually not short out but you'll have to wash your board and let it dry completely :)

I found a good dealer in the USA , i did you a pm Nazaar. If you (or others) want the details , just let me know.

For example, a 130/170 Watt pelt, new for only 18.20$ (15€) shipping to Belgium inclusive.

This is what i'm thinking to build for starting with peltiers:

any chance of doing a group order ??

piotke 6th November 2004 08:37

try also to contact the local velleman dealers. As they also sell TEC elements, but on a much lower price.

Gamer 6th November 2004 08:59

Velleman dealers only have some lower watt peltiers, even a 80 watt wasn't in stock.

This was the reply on a question on e-bay auction.

"Sneaky" as I am, I did another mail to him, with the question if I could purchase direct to his comagny.
That was not a problem at all , and it was even a lot cheaper!
Here's the text of that mail:

Roel,

Yes, you can save money by purchasing direct. The price of $18.20 each for model CP1-12715 includes shipping to Belgium and there are no additional charges. However, if payment is made via PayPal there is a 5% additional charge.

If you want to place an order you can simply tell me the quantity, model and method of payment. If you want to pay via PayPal I will send you a PayPal invoice. If you want to pay via money order you can send payment to:

Michael Hollander
Thermal Enterprises
2 Shady Lane
Kendall Park, NJ 08824
USA

For payment via money order I recommend that you try using Western Union (www.westernunion.com). If you use Western Union it can be done online using a credit card and you can email the security code to me so I can collect the payment at my local Western Union agent. This is a lot faster than sending a money order in the mail.

Michael Hollander
Thermal Enterprises

As you see, its not a problem to purchase a lot of peltiers there. And a lot cheaper, compared to prices here in Belgium. Low Dollar can save you some serious money

;)

nice :)

I don't know much about pelts but someone told me the pelts had to be "potted" I think.

Do you know what it means and how I am supposed to tell the difference?

Also, I had a quick look on their site for psu's and they looked just like the ones from meanwell only meanwell has some 15V models (ideal to get the max out of your pelts I would think) and they didn't.
