I know that some hdd die (instantly) on 13.5v

just stay below 13V

ps. do u mean the voltages will rise under load?

my friend saaya ran his fortron PSU with his 12V line at +14V. his CDRW died but the HDD's are still fine

most electrical components stand a voltage toleration of 10%, so 13V is not out of spec

Interesting
Prolly make a dif between brand hdd but either way I wont be trying it.

Why 14V? does he need a high 5v rails?
I dont think there are any benefites of gogin higer then 5.5V?

and... is that hdd oc'ing?

HDD is not OC'ed.

all his voltage rails are very high just because overclocking gets much better then

When you oc, your lines will rise because of the extra output. Or am i mistaken??
Anyway, just put fsb to 200 -> 12V went up a little and 5V went down a little, so it really isn't a problem.
Just gonna put my new hdd's and mobo in and oc for real then.
Will keep you guys posted (if interested).

yea I kinda knew that. Just wanted to know if the higher voltage makes the hdd spin faster.

My rails: 3.63, 5.5, 12.75
so irl there a little bit higher.
I only mesured the 3.3 with no load right from the atx plug

But there a gfx missing in my pc so I can't play around with it anymore. Next week a new radeon arrives.

ok, rails stay stable, but I have a few other questions.
1. How much volt should the AGP-slot get?
2. What does the -12V do? Because it's pretty high.
thx, Randy

Agp runs of the 3.3rail. If u change the 3.3 rail fast u will kill your AGP slot and possible the card in it to.

I believe the -12V can be ignored.

U can go up or down 10%.
So 3.63, 5.5 and 13.2 would be safe.

Thats about my rails only I set the 12V to 12.75 to be safe

I didn't ask about the agp-rail to change it, but hardware doctor says that it gets 1.5V and indicates that it has to be between 1V and 2.5V. So it takes 1.5V from the 3.3-rail??? Is this correct?
