Prommy Mach Problems
 

Just got me this unit with AMD s462 kit.

Installed verything times, seems to be giving decent core contact. With in Bios (Asus A7N8X, 2400+, 1.85 Vcore) I noticed a 18° C temperature. Isolation is pefect (and very sticky). I presume this is not a normal prommy temp...

Another this I noticed is that the "head" of the unit, becomes warm on the outside, is this normal ?

for all I remember from my mach days (about two years ago), cpu temp with a mach 1 NEVER went over -10, even stressed... so this is absolutely not normal. the head never went hot.

gamer should know more,

- don't start the prom if it's just been moved, wait 24 hours before starting it
- check the radiator of the prom

The heat on the evap is normal, it's the heater that prevents condensation. And never believe your bios temp. Most temp sensor cant handle those low temps so they mess up. Just oc your cpu till the max! Check your thermal compound print on the evap to see if you have good contact. Check the prom lcd to see if the cpu load gets the temp lower.. That should be it :D

ok, heater thingie is solved. now the temperature. As I forgot teh LCD, will get it monday, I can't really check the evap temp right now.

AXP + Prommy will give higher temps then P4/A64 because of the smaller DIE, I had the same experience with a Mach I + AXP.

posted this also on born2OC. That mobo seems to have crappy temp sensors...

As the backside from that mobo feels icecold.

btw, what's the easyest way to remove the metal part from te socket. Can't get it off on a decent way.

the temp sensor is reading the air temp under the CPU, as it is not reading for the CPU DIE I guess...

the metal part you click over the socket from the S462 prommy kit.

a small screwdriver at each side to lift them over the "clips" should work
