Project Dry Ice (pics are there)

Me and a friend of mine had some time ago plans of running dry ice, but never realy moved on.
Few weaks ago he gaved a link to a shop where you can buy dry ice.
Called today and its only for gent and 30km around it :(
But colin goes too indugaz and thats the closest nearby. i'll try too fix it to get it here.
Now enough talking around here are the pics of what we already have:D

i found this box @ work, its to store fish:^D. but it insulates very good(don't worry the holes will be closed):super:

Then i asked @ school that they wouldn't have a tube of about 6 cm.
they said look around (didn't find anything)
So i asked where do they might have it.
They said maybe @ technigroup (refridgeration company nearby).
called and said jump in and if we got it you have it:ws:
Jumped in today and got what i need.

monday i'll braze it tight and then its waiting to get some dry ice.

;)

kristos 26th January 2005 19:42

It must be love, loooove, love

jort 26th January 2005 19:45

ah btw i got 2 of 40cm :D

it might get your way ;)

and they have plenty there, all the size's you can think about :p
i took 5.5 cm because my baseplate is 6cm
next one w'll be around 7-8cm(tube)

kristos 26th January 2005 19:58

that'd be great! :D

in that case I'll be making a trip to Kasterlee soon :D

Da_BoKa 26th January 2005 20:08

drill some holes into the bottom plate! and dump in some lead balls, they say it helps for the temps

jort 26th January 2005 20:49

damn i knew we forgot something.
i'll draw it asap and my friend will drill it :D

kr15t0f 26th January 2005 21:27

no ln2 :(

:^D

hope you smash some records with your dry ice.

jort 26th January 2005 21:29

don't speed up :^D

they sell ln2 there but step by step.
because winnie have bootprobs @ xtreme temps.
but someone on XS said how you can boot without probs.
just making some experience first;)

kristos 27th January 2005 04:19

there's also new bios that allows some users to use sub zero temps, it fixed the problem for quite a few people but not for all of them though...

jort 27th January 2005 15:31

wow sweet, i'll try that for sure

jort 31st January 2005 16:50

here we go :ws:

i brazed the container together (thanks to my lovely teacher)

these are some pics of brazing in action :super:

here you see my slave thats holding the hose of nitrogin :p =-)
ps: always use safety glasses

closeup from some fine-*** brazing ;)

insulated

if you don't use nitrogin the air and copper react with each other and makes a layer of brown stuff

;)

waiting to make some dry ice phun:^D

Desert Eagle 31st January 2005 18:25

Better get use to using them if you intend to see/read when you get old or you stay in the trade. It is the "law" in the U.S. unless you are doing it at home.

jort 31st January 2005 19:44

yeah you right but special glasses are very expensive.
when i got a job i'll use them offcourse

jort 31st January 2005 22:42

n/o but 3.5-3.7 is impossible, nobody has ever reached that, afik ther record is 32xx

jort 1st February 2005 20:58

3.7 is a little bit too high i think:p
that a 1.9 ghz oc :^D

i hope around 3.1 - 3.3 ghz
if chip or board doesn't hold me earlier.

nobody has some spare Gskill pc 4800 (the one's that got too 310+ mhz):p

jmke 1st February 2005 21:34

Nice work. I can't wait to see some results. ;) :super:

jort 1st February 2005 21:51

expect some [M] clocks then;)

jmke 1st February 2005 22:26

don't get your hopes up too high for running 300FSB with 2 sticks though, as it will become very CPU dependant and a luck of the draw:)

jort 1st February 2005 22:33

i'll pray for luck then :king:
i'll spank it till 300 mhz :spank:

it will be easyer to get 300 with 2*256 then with 2*512, it stresses the mem controller less.

remember in the "old" days with 2*512 bh5 and nf2

jort 5th February 2005 15:40

did some lapping today.
all i had was till grid 600, so after the first dry ice run i'll buy grid 1000.

this one is with grid 320

this is after grid 600 and polishpaste

Desert Eagle 5th February 2005 21:57

Shiny :super:

jort 7th February 2005 11:12

expect an x800 compatible dry ice container too ;)

just called to a refridgeration company where i got the tube, they said a your the student, i said yes.
just jump in he said.
"i am @ freak out mode now". :^D

jmke 7th February 2005 11:26

I have grid 1000/1200 and higher here + polish mirrors and the lot, you can take them with you this evening if you take pics for use in upcoming review

it's from http://www.easypckits.com/

I have performance number for a lapped A64 HSF already here also

jort 7th February 2005 11:41

k i'll do that.
tnx m8

jort 7th February 2005 21:17

and off we go for another attempt to pull you guys your eye's out.(think its going to work):^D

today i made myself a gfx container, its perpose is to clock an x800 to smithereens.
i'll show you some pics.

lets start:

here it all start, sawing of the copper(yes your arms get tired)

then again the magic tube :o

i sawed some copper away so that the baseplate will fit there nicely.

this is the baseplate for the container.

drawed some lines where i must drill some holes.

holes drilled:grin:

then some pics of different angle

these tools will make this container tight like hell.

- torch
- silfos
- lighter
- a grip

ready to burn this to hell:grin:

container brazed and ready to be cleaned.
some different angle

this time i didn't use nitrogin because i haven't got any.
but it looks good after all.

this is it.

i've got the same size off insulation so pic isn't needed.

the next post here will be the cleaned container and after that the magic results and clocks
:super:

:hello:

kr15t0f 7th February 2005 21:23
