| pro]ect external wc in progress........ Finally I got a bit time to put my bench-rig (aka messy caseless-rig) in mine coolermaster ATC-S4000 SX1 (a beauty isn't she ). I was very enthusiast about it, but how the heck am I going install my watercooling setup in that. The ATC-S4000 SX1 is an awesome case, but it’s a real pain in the *** when it comes to installing stuff (especially optical drives, hdd’s, PSU). The case is huge (very deep), but it still is and remain a midi case. I had two options: 1) Make everything fit in the case like Mr. Calantak did 2) Find another solution I choose for the second option, because I didn't really wanna harm the case (e.g. cutting in the top-panel to fit a rad), it feels kind of awkward to cut in a really expensive case. If I did cut a hole in the top-panel, I would have lose 2 optical bays (that I really can't afford due there are only 3 available). But I'm stubborn and want a WC-setup for this case without making any big modifications. And I thought why not make a small unit to put under your original case=> go prommy style So I went to a local DIY shop and bought a couple of aluminum-extruded profiles Now let’s make the frame Procedure: -First I measure the dimensions of the case and then cut the profiles on size. In my case (btw each case has different sizes ): *4x 665mm (15x15x15x2mm U-profile, depth)=> BLUE *4x 165mm (10x10x10x1.25mm, U-profile, height)=>GREEN *4x 175mm (15x15x2mm, L-profile, width)=> BABY-BLUE -Take a piece of 10mm U-profile and stick it on the end of the 15mm U-profile, that makes an angle of 90°. -Now drill a hole through those 2 profiles (don’t put too much pressure on it, I took 4mm drill bit) -Then fasten the 2 U-profiles with rivets -Do this till you get 2 side-frames -Now take the L-profiles and fasten them to the edge of the 2 side-frames Result: Next step to do: Buy and make an aluminum plate for the base where I’ll fasten the two rads and the pump. But I don’t if the frame is resonance-free when I mount the base plate to the frame. Eheim 1250 is resonance-free , resonance means noise. And I hate noise This is just the beginning, still a lots to do. Any comments are welcome |

| well, as you say, the case is unparalelled in looks... but it's quite the boring ****e if you need to work in it... WORST CASE I've ever owned to replace mobo or anything... your solution will be nice, I just wanted it to be easily transportable for me biggest prob is : 3*5.25" bays...
