Just reading this post was entertainment. But I want to say how glad I am that I joined this insane asylum.

I learned a lot more on this one thread than in all the posts over at Phase-change.com. Don't get me wrong phase-shange is a great little site, but there were some very astute observations here.

1.) I knew that the AMD was going to trouble for several reasons. Beyond the proporation mismatch between Core, and cooling head, I just don't feel it's a very good connection no matter the angle.

2.) I don't feel so bad about my temps, my Epox showed the same 9C(+) and I was befuddled.

3.) Although it's supposed to be common knowledge, it's always good when someone mentions the rechecking of the thrmal-paste connection. I know no one likes to do it, anfter spreding it perfectly even over the core surface, but it's the best sure fire method of verifying FULL contact. And there isn't decent contact it even shows you at what angle it's occurring.

4.) You guys crack me up!
