Overclocking Contest OC-Team.be/Madshrimps
 

Blindripper van onze eigenste overclocking team "OC-Team.BE" kwam op het brilliante idee om een overclocking contest te houden dit jaar met een goedkoper, maar toch niet slecht presterend 3D kaartjen. Eventjes zag er het ernaar uit dat NVIDIA ons een goede deal ging geven met de budget 8 series, maar dat bleek een flop te zijn. De budget 8500GT kaart is merkbaar trager dan de vorige generatie low/mid end 7300GT video kaartjen.

Met een beetje goede wil en overtuiging hebben we op korte tijd deze lijst aan deelnemers tevoorschijn getoverd:

Na beetje overleg en rondgechat konden we een deal sluiten voor ein DDR3 powered 7300GT PCIe video kaartje dat vrij groot OC potentieel heeft, meer fun voor ons en een snellere kaart voor weinig geld. Hoeveel?

Om iedereen op de hoogte te houden van de laatste tips, tricks, OC attempts, crazy overclocks, hoge benchmarks en meer gaan we @ Madshrimps.be de hele event coveren met foto's en ervaringen van de overclockers. Om dit mogelijk te maken vragen we aan de deelnemers om sporadish, om de 1 à 2 weken (ten minste) een updateje met eventueel bijhorende photos en screenshots to posten op de OC-Team.be forums, en uw ervaring delen van hoe het overclocken lukt.

Haast en spoed is zelden goed, daarom loopt de overclocking contest tot einde Augustus, zo moet niemand thuis blijven in de vakantie om de deadline te halen.

De benchmarks zijn 3DMark2001SE en 3DMark03: de Nature Game Test, beide op custom resolutie van 1280x1024 met 4xAA (anti-aliasing) enabled. Dit zorgt ervoor dat de resultaten van de benchmarks heel sterk leunen op de VGA kaart en dus de verschillen in andere systeem componenten verminderd.

Maximum CPU Speed:
- Pentium 4/D <=4000Mhz
- Athlon 64/FX <=3000Mhz
- Core 2 Duo <=2400Mhz

Let er op dat je uw resultaten die je "submit" voor de contest ook online zet bij Futuremark en Compare Link bij u resultaat neerpoot. Voorbeeld: 3DMark2001SE 35.1 FPS.

Dus let op PUBLISHED ONLINE = VALID score.

VGA Cooling

Vergeet niet te vermelden welke cooling je gebruikt op uw VGA kaart, aangezien we mensen die Dry Ice of LN2 gebruiken niet in zelfde categorie als "air coolers" gaan steken. 3 categorien:

- air cooling
- water cooling (with/without PELT)
- Extreme: LN2 / DryIce / Phase Change

We gaan ervan uit dat mensen EERLIJK vermelden en documenteren hoe ze hun VGA kaartje koelen. Als we erachter komen dat iemand met LN2 cooling scores post in de air cooling sectie, gaan ze er niet goed van zijn. Fair Play onder Belgische OC vrienden moet kunnen, niet?
