yes the ram is decent, but not ideal for overclocking, that's what Da_Boka means by "decent"

Hello there guys. I'm VERY cherry to overclocking and have a bit of an odd problem. I'm running an AMD64 3000+ Newcastle, and crap RAM (PC2100) on an ASUS KV8 Deluxe mobo, and the best I can get to be fairly stable is 2.2gig. Can anyone suggest mobo settings, etc. for getting a stable 2.3 or better out of this setup? Or even some pointers on how to keep this thing happy at the 2.2gig. It will still do the random boot trick once in a while, although only while gaming or some other non-idle activity.

Any help would be appreciated.

just put a mem devider .
try 166 mhz or even 133 mhz to exclude your memory thats holding you back.

Well... with some tinkering, I have gotten it to 2.3 gig now, stable for days now with gaming and benchmarks galore. Not much of an improvement over 2.2, but the main thing (call me anal if you will) to me is that when I open a folder with 2.2GIG of pics in it, and it's set to thumbnail view, it doesn't take 5 minutes to load them all, lol. Now, it's maybe 10 seconds for the entire folder.

RAM is the next thing on the purchase list... trust me.
