nice 2.8c...

Just bought a second hand P4 2.8C to replace my amd rig.

I'm impressed. This is with a silent(!) casefan on a slk900 and stock volts. :)

nice one,
like to trade it with a 3 Ghz ?

does 3.5 with stock heatsink.

RichBa5tard 4th November 2003 18:20

Why? You want higher fsb?

Gamer 4th November 2003 18:25

it could hit 4 ghz, so with 285 fsb (with luck 1:1) you got a killer machine.

just asking, not for sure I'll do this, because I know for sure this one hits 4100 mhz.

3600 - 2800 = 800Mhz OC
3200 - 2400 = 800Mhz OC

so this P4 2.4C is "nice" also? :p
I was hoping for 3.6Ghz with the 2.4

also on silent aircooling it ran 3.2 stable

Gamer 4th November 2003 18:40

yep, nice :p

just everything above 3.5 ghz looks alot better.

a royal @ you my friend :p

hmm, I bought richy's p4p800 VM today, after 3 trains or so eh ;-)
Also bought a 2.6 "c"

Anyways, if I set cpu to 250 fsb and my mem to 200. I get huge Vcore fluctuations, going from 1.536 till 1.601

In sandra my mem bandwith is "only" 4300 Mb/sec.

I have the feeling that my amd is faster ...

Any secret Trick I missed in bios maybe ?

btw, chipset drivers, dets, all coorectly installed

edit: I have HT enabled, maybe disable it

jmke 4th November 2003 19:27

3.2ghz is not bad ;)
but can be better

that bandwith is good no? for mem only at 4300?
what timings?

use clockgen for fast fsb changing in XP
