new powersupply Hello, I have problems with overklocking my system: asus p5p800 9800pro@xt bios p4 520 2,8ghz@zalman 7700cu 2x256+2x512mb ram ddr400 max speed 230mhz@2,5-3-3-6 I have a question will help a new powersupply me? The maximum stable fsb I can reach is 227mhz my ram is stable @230 in memtest 86+ but my cpu isnt stable. I can do super pi @3,7ghz and it pretty stable at an fsb of 255 but I dont understand why it crashs when i put my fsb higher then 227.>>at 1,45 vcore. The temperature isnt the problem the maximum temperature at this speed is 55°C in prime95. What could I do to overklock higher with a stable system? Will a new powersupply work, a powerstream like an OCZ modstream or powerstream? Thanks Greetz Ruud |
up that vcore. what powersupply do you have now ? |
psu I have a standard power supply>>was in my case 350watt Vcore up doesnt work when I put my fsb higher and my vcore to 1,55v it is instable. |
Hm, a standard 350W brandless psu will probably never be very stable. I suggest taking a new one indeed. Another thing though: you use 2 different sizes of RAM, which really limits the possibility of overclocking on your system. Throw out the 2x 256, or throw out all and add 2x 1024. with 2 ram modules instead of 4, maybe with slightly tighter timings, you have much more potential. |
psu hello, I think there is nothing wrong with my ram, 6000/1900 mb/s read/write. But my psu is a OCZ modstream a good choice? Thanks, Ruud |
Sure, an OCZ modstream 450W should be more than sufficient for your system in my opinion |
new psu I have a new psu now a samsung 350 watt, free for mee, but a heavy thing. I will try it with 2 psu's 700 watt will be enough  |
X2 4800+ Asus M2n32-SLI Wireless Edi+ Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2 hello, I can buy this for 300/350 euro: X2 4800+ Asus M2n32-SLI Wireless Edi+ Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2. Should I do it, or buy a conroe? Ruud |

new hdd: seagate barracuda 7200.10 320gb sata2 16mb cache doesnt work I have a asus p5p800-EAYZ motherboard Bios version 1401 The computer worked good before with a IDE hdd, I installed a new SATAII Seagate ST3320620AS and placed the jumper for sata1 This worked one day at 73MB/s but after this the system became very slow and the speed of the hdd was just 3MB/s I connected the hdd on the second sata connector and the system worked properly for one day and it became slow again I tried a new SATA cable but this made no difference |
