Default NB cooler

Should i replace my stock NB cooler (passive) on my p4c800 e deluxe?
Without fan in sidepanel >50°, with fan 30° (tornado too loud)

Or do I just have to put some AS5 at?

any suggestions?

I added 40mm fan on both Asus P4P800 boards; without the fan I couldn't get stable Oc'ed speed. You couldn't hear the fan running at all.

problem is with the hooks.
There are compatible coolers, but the choice is very limited.

A small quit fan is probably the best option.

1) 40mm fans can be found in some old cdrom drives, that would the cheapest approach. Otherwise you can go into any PCshop and ask for them, they are quite common

2) don't expect a lot of difference with AS5 if there was already some sort of thermal paste on there. but every bit helps and it wouldn't hurt!

If you can't find a 40mm fan, find yourself a 60mm and attach it with some paper, worked overhere.

I super-glued the 40mm fan right onto the Asus NB because the screws won't take the "bite" with the heatsink design.

I started doing this over 4 years ago; it won't come off unless you force it. Don't use too much; just a ver small drop on four contact areas.
