It's the EP45-Extreme with a huge heatsink on it. Does that mean it couldn't be the heat (so the Vmch)?

FSB term voltage = CPU termination?

Try to play with the MCH reference voltage eg 0.74 or so and memtest ya rig before entering windows ( a few passes of test 7 will determine if it will survive Pi or not )

FSB = CPU Term...

Which CPU Skew and NB Skew ?
Does that ram really need 2.48 ?
Are you runing sync or not ?
Which PL selected ?

With fine tweaking 580-590FSB on air should be doable... not with 10 multi ofcourse

George did a good review on it :

ep45-extreme

Trying to answer these questions although the system is powered down now:

I try booting into windows at 520-530 now, and using the EasyTune tool I can run SPi 1M at each step of the FSB. Memtest might indeed give me a stability-test, but do I need that? If it's SPi 1M-stable it's okay...

CPU and NB-skew: 100ps
The RAM-voltage is that high in that screnshot as I was testing if that was holding me back. Now it's at 2.4V. It's cooled very wel (2x120mm) and has D9GMH or D9GKX-chips on it. EPP-profile shows 2.2V and other manufacturers have those chips with an EPP of 2.4V...
What do you mean with sync or not? Mem-divider is 2.00B (B = 333MHz-strap)
Performance Level is at the middle of the three options. If the options are standard-turbo-extreme, it's at turbo. But I don't know the name of the setting by heart.

Considering all those questions and no more comment on the Vmch: can I conclude 1.4V with the massive heatsink is okay?

I hope to do 580-590FSB

One of the big differences is:
Quote:
Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
CPU Clock Drive: 1000mv
PCI Express Clock Drive: 1000mv
CPU Clock Skew: 300ps
MCH Clock Skew: 300ps
My clock drives are at 800mV and skews at 100ps. Do those settings make a big difference?
Besides: there's quite a difference between what you set in the BIOS and what's shown in the easytune-utility. I read that a lot on forums, but I don't know what voltages exactly differ...

First, try to figure out what's the maximum FSB with a lower multiplier. If it's higher than 545, you know the cpu is holding you back.

On air (with a lower multiplier) I couldn't get over 545 either. But I will try with the suggestions leeghoofd made...

Try CPU at 200 and NB at 100 Skew ( never the same )

Memtesting with test 7, if it passes you can bench for sure at them speeds ( Pi and 3dmarks without an issue)

Ram PL is TRD in the Giga bios ( I believe ) Leave CPU and PCI Clock drive at AUTO (didn't need to move that setting at 580FSB Hyperpi stable)

Easytune readout is borked , there was a workaround but I never tried it, I'm a boot from bios guy , I loath windows utils...

580FSB shouldn't pose a prob

This is with the EP45T UD3P (DDR3 version)

1M quicly done on i7 and cascade.

I think 5.6 1M is doable under cascade ...
