Intel aircooling @ the max Hi peepz, I come to disturb u guys with my  intel aircooling plans. First and for all Here's a sketch I'd like to do something like that. I'll have to experience with the 40mm fans on what will cool coolest:) So the way they are standing now is just an example. Now I'd like to know wich of these heatsinks is the best, if you know there should be a fanadapter and a papst 4412FM (80CFM) on it:
That's it, tnx in advance, Bored |
if you want to cool your CPU like that, then using the ALPHA PAL8942 will give you the best performance "what what whaaaaaaaaat?" I hear you say now. Well since the alpha has the fan sucking air AWAY from the heatsink, it will benefit most from the fans blowing sideways cause for the other 2 (swiftech/slk) the fans will work against eachother also maybe consider getting a nais 80mm high performance fan and drop the fan adapter, using the adapter will lose the performance you "could" have gained with the extra fans @ the bottom |
As i said: I'm not sure how i am ging to place these sidefans, could be both sucking, could be botg blowing, could be one suck, one blow... But check this: There was an buy-in-action (inkoopactie :D) from papst fans a while ago, and i ordered a 4412 FM and a 80mm NG* (i don't know the last letter no more, its the fan with those letters with the best performance i remember) I wanted to put the 80mm on top of my graka, and in the future i would aim it at my zalman 80 a HP vga cooler So i thought: 120mm @ 12 volt with fanadapter will perform better then 80 @ 12 volt whitout... So can u please think again and post your revised opinion :) |
drop the 40mm idea, they will block the outgoing aire more then they will be able to suck out an 80 or 120mm will provide more air then those 40mm can process instead think of working with 2 (yes it is loud) 60mm Delta sucking out air.. hold on.. most crappy picture ever in PIC1 you see: the red are 2x 60mm fans sucking air out in (2) you see the back + cutout for the 2x60mm =) |
Ok, thats 1 thing allready, but wich heatsink do I have to take nov to squeeze every last hertz out of that wiliamette :( |
the cheapest of the 2 the temp won't be the limiting factor here.. your wiliamette will be :) |
It's allso a bit aimed at the future, when i buy a new p4 within this year, it allso will be OCed and then i will need kickass cooling, u see... |
still, go for cheapest :) cause in future better products will be released :) |
Swiftech, here i come :) Anyways, i think the swiftech will perform better/will be more compatible with a fanadapter, so ... |
My last question before i order Which one of the HS's is most compatible with a pelt? Cuz' i might consider installing a pelt whitin some time. And what does a pelt cost? Can i just plug it in my chieftech PSU, or will an aditional PSU be necessary? Loads of thanks, when this question is answered, i won't disturb u guys no more. |
