it did in XP, but not in Vista. My scores were from XP so the threads had nothing to do with it

| I can't smell what OS you were using but for Wprime, vista scores better wonder if Windows 7 will do better still

On HWI, people are testing the W7 and apparently it's indeed faster than Vista ... :-).

Is there another oc-tool available for OC'ing 4870X2 except Riva ? Riva gives lots of trouble here combined with the catalyst drivers.

Do you have CCC installed ? First : In riva you have to set the speed for both gpu's seperate = first problem. Second cpu always reverts to 507mhz when de bench starts. Second : fan speed : if I set manual fan speed in riva it only stays this way until after the first 3D section, after that it stops spinning and crash. I can set fan speed in CCC, but then I only have 800 core available. Only trouble free operation is through CCC so far, but limits me to 800 core as said

CCC installed. You can change the frequency of both cards without a problem Use the same resolution for your background as the one used in the benchmark. Clocks won't be rest and fan wont be turned down.

@ Massman, no matter what I try, Commando + E8600 doesn't go over 525MHz FSB through superpi, but I can run wprime 1024M at 520MHz though. I remember you saying this board did near 600MHz right, so it seems it is the CPU which has a terrible FSB wall. At 5200MHz I'm scoring 16,5s wprime where much of the competition is still sub 5GHz, is p965 that slow or what? EDIT: tested DFI board with both E8600 and E6600 but no revival.

I actually hit 580FSB, on LN2 that is, suicide, but I think I was able to bench at 550 pretty easy. Did you play with the GTLs? Tried different bioses? Memory issues? Tried lowering MP? More VTT? At what settings do you boot and do you use setfsb? The Commando is a pretty slow board, because the NB latencies are terribly. You can alter that by doing the PMem modifications: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...highlight=pmem
