Help overclocking DFI LanParty UT nF3 250GB

Hi All,

My system is running ok, but I'm not sure if my settings are ok. Is there anything else I can change? Can someone help me optimize it?
I have:
Athlon 64 3200+, DFI LanParty UT nF3 250GB, 1GB OCZ (3-4-4-8) PC3200.

Here is what I have now:

FSB Bus Frequency: 244
AGP Bus Frequency: 67
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio: 3
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio: 10
CPU VID Control: 1.425
CPU VID Special Control: 110%
Chipset Voltage Control: 1.7
AGP Voltage Control: 1.6
DRAM Voltage Control: 2.8

DRAM Frequency Set: 180 (9/10)
CPC: Disabled
tCL: 3
tRCD: 4
tRAS: 10
tRP: 4
tRC: 15
tRFC: 17
tRRD: 00
tWR: 3
tWTR: 2
tRTW: 4
tREF: 4708 166 (1.95us)
tWCL: Auto
DQS Skew: Increase
DQS Skew Value: 64
DRAM Drive Strength: Level 1
Max Async Latency: 8
Read Preamble Time: 6
Idle Cycle Limit: 32
Dynamic Counter: Auto
R/W Queue Bypass: 16

Thank you in advance for your help

hello OldDarux and welcome to the forums :hello:

could you give me more details on your OCZ memory? (exact model name/number)
are you using 2 sticks of 512Mb? (I think this is a "yes" but it's better I ask)

OldDarux 25th November 2004 20:46

OCZ4001024V3
1 stick of 1GB
PC3200 400MHz
3-4-4-8

your memory timings look good, ~220 is not bad for value ram I'd say :)

if you get some TCCD powered OCZ you will be able to push close to 300Mhz with 1 stick ;)

Or any memory with TCCD chips :D

OMG, great overclock, you just have to put "cpu vid control" higher, probably about 1.5, cpu vid special control would I leave at 110%.
Crank that Vdimm up
Also put 32 byte granulation to 8 bursts (disable)
Iyour cpu a co or cg revision? If cg, put cpc on, it won't make a difference for your oc, but your bandwith is going to increase a great deal.
tREF is also very important, but this changes from ram to ram, so you'll have to search for yourself. (200mhz 15.6us works well for many)

There are still many more things to tweak, just keep searching and if you have questions, post them, I'm beginning to understand this mobo.

dude who wrote this http://www.madshrimps.be/forums/show...&threadid=9892

is looking into writing a howto OC with the DFI UT NF3 guide, should prove interesting :)

btw about "CPC" , not all ram can cope with this either, Value ram might have issues with it, and the larger the module (256,512,1024) the harder it will be to overclock them

think the howto from Jess is already done for bh5/bh6 and hynix, rest of rams still have to be done.
@jmke: you're right about cpc, but he can try:D
ow yeah, search the web for the bios Jess (the one from the how-to) and Samurai Jack modded from an oskar Wu bios. It gives you the possibility to give 4.0V to rams if you're prepared to mod your psu 3.3V rail. Or send me an email so I can mail it to you if you want it. I'm running it and it does wonders.
oh, and cpu thermal throtling has to be disabled to oc, lots have problems when enabled.
edit: but you can't be on the original bios to disable thermal throtling or it will not post

Sincerely Dentnvr6
