as long as it find the WinXP install you're all set, don't try to mix SATA/PATA though (Pata on P4C800 and then connect on SATA @ IC7 .. won't work)

Gamer 30th May 2004 13:07

HDD is SATA @ P4C800, no problems there.
gona try it out without mounting the mobo in the case first :)

jmke 30th May 2004 13:09

hmmm... let me know how it works out, never switched mobo's with a SATA HDD.

The Senile Doctor 30th May 2004 13:19

just biossettings that need to be ok

piotke 30th May 2004 13:23

4.1 Ghz on air is nice, would be like 4.4 or even more with prommy. But isn't prescott much slower ?

The Senile Doctor 30th May 2004 13:28

it's about the same thing, some tests slower, others faster

Gamer 30th May 2004 14:18

on super PI it's faster, in 3D it's slower.
looks like the IC7-Max3 stressed the memory more then on my P4C800.
ran in some troubles on high fsb speeds beyond 260 fsb ?

max I could do was 3.900 super PI-Sysoft-PC mark 04 stable.
no 3D, because I dind't install the drivers for that Ti4200.

don't look at the vcore, it can work on much lower vcore.

The Senile Doctor 30th May 2004 14:21

well, just have to wait for the installation of the entire rig, and then we'll see just how much slower in 3dmark
