The custom watercooling thread

well folks, this summer I'm going to switch to watercooling. I've put my box of heatsinks aside and got me some copper:D

I'm going to watercool because aircooling my future system in that midi case of me (Koolance PC2-C without the WC unit) would get a problem. When I'm going to upgrade my system and give it some more voltage, I would either have to use lower voltage or noisy fans to keep my temps okay... Watercooling is also fun and versatile, why don't give it a shot at it?

yesterday I went to g.L.amour and bought/borrowed some stuff there I needed, thanks a lot to both him and MansoN for driving me home.

So far I've got 1meter of red copper and 70cm of yellow copper + a radiator. here are some webcam pics, my brother snatched the digital cam to go on weekend.

the rad:

my first copper block is a NB block: it's just a testblock and it doesn't need to be high-performing, first thing is to make it work for 100%
drilled the holes today:

Tomorrow I'll get a copper pipe to connect my hose, some decent blades for my electrical saw (handsaw is a pain in the ***) and something to solder the copper pipe

A bigger rad + pump will be shipped this morning
I'll keep you updated, let's hope it turns out well!

real great

wanted to drill the holes that keep the blocks together, but the thing that tights my drill bit to my drill was gone. Tried without, but the drill got loose every time. went to brico and bought a new one. then the drill broke off because the machine wasn't perfectly adjusted the same. exit testblock, I prolly won't be able to continue the drilling of the hole any more :/

starting another block in five minutes, plenty of copper!

high quality pics this time :o

drilling the holes went a bit better then the previous time but still haven't mastered it quite yet!
