Default Cooling DDRRam

What is it the thing with cooling your DDRRam. IS it effective or not and what kind of cooling is best? The little blocks to paste on the chips or the big plates? And with or without a 40mm fan?

only when pushing 3.2+ volt through your DDR you should consider adding some heatsinks or a fan to your chips.

Yep, only when using high voltages and speeds. At voltages <2.9v they hardly get warmer then 7° above ambient.

I've often read that heatspreaders are more of a mental reassurance then an effective cooling sollution. If you're really concerned about the heat I would suggest using small sinks and a fan.
