compatable air coller, mb's and powersupply

Hello,

I just bought a Q6600 Intel processor. I have a number of questions that others might of asked but they span too wide a field and I would like to think my questions relate to my needs.

Since I have a stock Intel fan, which motherboards from either Gigybyte, Asus, or Asrock will give me the highest overclocked speed of the cpu just using the basic Intel Fan ?

I wish to stick with air cooled coolers. Which air coolers do you recommend that will boost the overclock speed of the cpu on any of the above motherboard manufacturers ?

Which motherboards are preferable to consider. I wam willing to spend $200.00 on a a mb.

I realize that the power of the power supply has a lot to do with overclocking. Which power supply will give me the highest overclock speeds that are compatable with above recommended motherboards and air coolers

Thanks.

1600P35-WiFi+ ? Might this board be a candidate ?

Overclocking with stock intel fan you will run into temp limits before you hit mobo limits.

As for which mobo Asus and Gigabyte both make great mobos and will be able to push a Q6600 to its limit before you reach the mobo limit.

The best air cooler is the ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme ( TRUE ) it cost a bit and does not come with a fan but its a beast at cooling :ws:

Mobo GIGABYTE GA P35 DS4 or DQ6 not DS3R or P35C
Or ASUS P5K, not P5K3 or P5KC

Just make sure whatever you get isn't DDR3 as well.

As for PSU there are alot of other factors like Graphics Card, Hard Drives etc but for a non Sli/Crossfire rig I would suggest a 450W+ PSU for headroom in OCing. Can't go wrong with either a Seasonic or Corsair PSU. If you arn't using a graphics card 300W would be fine.

The Ultra-120 eXtreme is made for higher speed fans, so keep that in mind, for lower noise cooling other coolers will be on par & cheaper;)

DDR3 doesnt offer speed increase
costs more

your measurement at a LANparty is hardly scientific ;)

loading times have more to do with HDD than memory in a system, if you got speedy disks, without fragmentation, you'll have nice game load-up speed.

put difference between DDR2<>DDR3 is not none existent, in most cases fast, low timed DDR2 will run faster in real life still, and the differences are so small, that they are worthy
