Cmon lads !! We need you and joe and joe

Morning all, today gonna try to get low 18 secs for the Hwbot Country competition... Linkie of stage 2 here : HWbot Country cup Stage 2 : Pifast Sadly Massman ain't gonna be bribed, rules are rules !! He will never end up rich :)

We need at least 3 results lads to get an average score up... Battling for the top spot ain't gonna be possible ( need at least 4.8-4.9Ghz ) but we can do top 5 normally...

Hopefully PJ, Blind and Thomas can contribute too... I got Luc's Classie board and CPU here maybe he can pass by for a quick "I pressed on the button" score to validate or improve that 18.28 score on H²O I already pretested...

Don't let your country down !! Bench the pleuris out of ya I7 !!

jmke 16th November 2009 08:35

closest I got: http://hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=907458
is Dell machine, zero OC options, and it's no bloomfield... :-/

it's quite obvious that this round is a bit of failure; requirements are too high

leeghoofd 16th November 2009 08:37

Dunno bout that John, they are limiting 20X which levels the playing field, scores at 4.4 anyone should be able to do that ( even on air )

Pt1t 16th November 2009 08:45

I Will finnish the 18/11 @ 23:59 ?

nigel 16th November 2009 09:00

hence i am benching a I7, i wil upload a pifast result :)

nah, people tend to OC for fun with hardware that's less expensive;
it's quite clear this round is a bit of a letdown...

still hoping for a change in one of the upcoming rounds to something more mainstream ; like say; A64 CPU (not phenom).

I will post only if pifast pass to 5ghz :D

jmke 16th November 2009 09:14

any score is better than none; currently average will get .BE points;)

Pt1t 16th November 2009 09:28

i m confident on this :D

Requirement = X58.

"Popularity: 28592 submissions were made using this chipset. "

jmke 16th November 2009 09:47

unique submissions? I doubt it ;)
in a single benchmark? I doubt it ;)

Pt1t 16th November 2009 09:50

How about 920 in 20X CPUZ but with Turbo on only when pifast is running ?

jmke 16th November 2009 09:53

Turbo will increase the MP I think...

- 28814 unique submissions using a Bloomfield platform.
- 1388 unique users
- 868 unique pifast submissions using bloofield
- 320 unique users submitted pifast using bloomfield.

No, max MP = 20x

jmke 16th November 2009 10:05

so a potential MAX 320 users who used PiFast before... or max 1388 users ever with Core i7; yes it's sad there are not too many entries; we have to incorporate timing issue. I already told that 1 week/round is not a lot; and while limiting the hardware/benchmark is very interesting it also limits potential participants, especially if the HW limit requires a larger investment.

now do the same for the first round ;)
S775 Quad Core (none Extreme) users

any possibility for any of the upcoming stages to be altered (as the specs are not yet revealed should not be a pbm public wise) to a cheaper platform? Aiming to a CPU/MOBO/RAM combo of round €100/$100 ? This can be Athlon 64 S939 or Intel S478 ? that may spice things... do note: may :)
and as a benchmark one could go for 3D01 with a CPU requirement, to really mix things up :D

What are the tweaks for Pifast ?

leeghoofd 16th November 2009 14:55

dunno, running my rams at almost 2300MhzC8 doesn't give any better score over 1950Mhz c7...Neither does a higher uncore speed... HT off here and a clean xp install; just try to go as fast as possible on the bclock...

woohhooo we are in the top 5 now... thx Blind and Nigel...

nigel 16th November 2009 15:00

sweet :D

now lets stay there :D

And Leeghoofd nice work man

that one is very important, shaves off at least a SECOND.

jmke 16th November 2009 15:16

overall we even are in TOP 10 :D

HWBOT Country Cup 2009 Ranking

2. Brazil Brazil - 13 points
3. Russian Federation Russian Federation - 10 points
4. Portugal Portugal - 7 points
5. Iran Iran - 6 points
6. United States United States - 5 points
7. Indonesia Indonesia - 5 points
8. Belgium Belgium - 4 points
9. Estonia Estonia - 4 points
10. Argentina Argentina - 3 points
11. Italy Italy - 2 points

leeghoofd 16th November 2009 15:32

we can go for 2nd spot dead easy with the current rankings (but USA, Greece and will contribute for sure...) in Pifast

I did a 18.28 on Luc's CPU at 4.6Ghz, Thomas and Massman can do a 4.7-4.8Ghz run easy... so both should go sub 18secs.... which should give us a few points more for the global ranking...

Gamer 16th November 2009 16:26

I'll do one tomorrow.
Sub 18 for sure :p

nigel 16th November 2009 16:28

go for it :D
