Cascade + little brother?

Hey MAD men :D

Early 2010 i'll be ordering cooling parts from Poland, I've asked Piotres to "makeme an offer i cannote refuse" :p this is part 1

I wanted a massive cascade that could handle -100° at around 250W load orso.
Then i thaught, why not have a little unit build for vga aswell and this is his idea ...
I like it but i have contradictory thaughts about it and would like your input :)
Afterall, i won't be the only one using it i should hope ;)

Mainly, what do you think about it and most importantly, about it's usefulness.

Specs:
Quote:

GPU cooling unit (dual evaporator system)

-Compressors two LG 164 PAB (or similar), 9700 BTU each
-One splitted 3.0kw condenser
-Each suction line 120 cm long
-Insulation 18 mm thick all over unit
-Suction line sleeve color to choose
-Kprobe on each evaporator
-R507 freon
-EVAPS GPU type 2 pcs
-Only one evap (one compressor can be runned) , not always both
-Temperature of each evaporator -42 to -48C@260W load, unloaded -53 to -60C
It could cool 2 singlechip cards but a dualpcb ... don't think so.
Also a dualchip card becomes difficult, i think the chips would be to close to eachother.

But on the other hand, it can be used as 2 separate single stages, so 2 benchers with 1 vga each for instance, is also possible :)

That's for the "little brother".

That poor man is so busy the cascade offer is due for the near future :D

And you are going to build it yourself?

jmke 30th September 2009 10:40

What do you think?

why not have a little one made

I wish :-/ No mate, "Piotres" would be doing the building, it's his plans aswell ;)

ordering parts as in seperate pieces from poland.

Anyhow doesn't matter, can't wait to see it in action :)

Diegis0n 30th September 2009 10:48

Ok i phrased it badly :D i meant it as in the units themselves are the cooling parts.

But i would like to know if you would have one like this build, or if you rather would leave it at a single evap unit ...

his post stated that he will have a cascade made.
not that he will be making a cascade ;p

I would always use a unit for gpu or some quick cpu testing, but when aiming for results, gpu only. Cpu LN2, so yes single evap only.
But you have to descide that on your own. What fits your needs.

Diegis0n 30th September 2009 11:05

Well i can imagine using the dual evap system often enough, but i think i mainly would be running a single evap rather then both. That's where my doubts are ...

It sure can come in handy, but is it worth it?
Pricewise: dual evap = roughly 150% of the single evap unit. intresting enough to think hard :p

Pardons 30th September 2009 11:10

I would go for a strong single evap cascade :D

Diegis0n 30th September 2009 11:13

Hmm, vga's won't really profit from more cold, or am i wrong?

Strong cascade is also in the plans but that offer is being written in the next few days ;)

geoffrey 30th September 2009 17:10

They have processors, just like mainboards have.

Diegis0n 30th September 2009 17:18

so in the end: how would you have this build done?

blind_ripper 1st October 2009 10:03

if u go for dual evap and single compressor take 12000btu rotary to be good.
for 2 stage cascade arround 10000btu rotary's will give u -95°C load @ 250watt with normal room temps.

gij leest mijn gedachten :D.

Diegis0n 1st October 2009 10:12

Dual evap would and should be with 2 compressors, to run 1 OR both, when needed :D

The cascade ... i'm anxious to receive his offer ... it should be -1xx° @ those loads ;) :naughty:

blind_ripper 1st October 2009 11:45

u have been thinking u can only take a maximum off 2000watt out off ure room's socket :p ?

Diegis0n 1st October 2009 12:15

By the time it arrives i'll have a warehouse orso available ;)

If that thing enters my house i'm a dead man, mark the words of my GF :D
