My 3000+ now runs @ 2705 mhz , every day , and is completely stable , folds@ 100% for 2 days now , and he didn't drop a wu yet .
Know the xp120 is a verry good sink , and i'm sure that this cpu would do the same , or almost with the xp 120 and a decent fan , as i do now with watercooling . Only advantage i have is that with a voltmod , i could push it higher , now i'm restricted by the 1,6 vcore max .
could it be possible you had luck with that 3000+ CPU?

That's possible , yess . But there are more people who reached this high with 3000+ cpu's and 3500+ , but i haven't seen such high scores from 3200+ cpu's .

maybe because of the fact that real hardcore oc'ers go for the cheapest in the socket 939? Isn't that the mentality of the real oc'ers to go for the cheapest so they can use the money for cooling etc? so they chose for the 3000+ and of course the hardcore oc'ers will have nice results in stead of an average oc'er who picks the 3200+ so the 3000+ is more in the spotline?

Default in my humble opinion IMHO!!

overclockers go for whatever works best.

if they can afford an fx 55 and a custom built phase change unit and don't mind spending big, they'll go for it.

they may also buy a couple of 3000+ for example, test, keep the best and sell the rest. and maybe repeat untill they got a real oc gem.

so even if the AMD 64 3000+ is 0.2 ghz slower and 60€ cheaper.. it (normaly, on an average scale) gives better prestations than an AMD 64 3200+ IF OC'ED? [both with the same setup]

I'll go for the AMD 64 3200+ prolly.. which RAM should I better pick? Low Latency RAM or High Brandwith RAM?

my budget lays around 260€... is the gold series of OCZ high-brandwith?

--> this ram costs 280€: OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC4000 Dual Channel Gold Series EL-DDR CAS2.5 REVISION 2 = http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...ce_Series.html third RAM

is that recommended RAM if I want to OC my CPU to a 2.4 ghz - 2.5 ghz?
