It was the computer psu that was making a lot of noise. I changed it, but even with a quiet psu the Prometeia is still not not quiet. The 2 120mm sunons are certainly not very quiet when I load the Prometeia...

Prometeia users: do your Prometeias whistle faintly as it starts up and the pressure builds? Mine does and I am wondering if it is leaking coolant. I have the suspicion that my high cpu temperatures 4~8C under load could be due to a lack of coolant.

I guess the whistle is due to the extremely rapid decrease in temp and the zero load of the cpu at that time (reset status). It's in the manual somewhere.

the whistling is normal, I think it's the evaporating freon

I reset everything again, took the foam off the side of the evaporator, spread the AS3 on, and tightened it with many spacers. Then I applied the insulation. Even so I am still getting load temps of around 4~8C using CPU burn at 1.85v bios, 1.78v detected, 3.1Ghz, and -10~-13C idle. I am pretty sure that I have good contact between the core and evaporator, but I am not getting the negative under load temperatures that other users of the Prometeia have reported. Could there be too little freon in my Prometeia?

hmmm... good question. I live in Schilde, just outside of Antwerp, it's pretty warm recently. I don't have a thermometer, but the Prometeia's display normally says 20~24C at startup, so that might be my room temperature before I switch on the Prometeia. It might rise a degree or two after I start the Prometeia up. but at 1.78v detected, and 3.1Ghz: idle: -12C CPU, -41 evaporator CPUBurn: 6C CPU, -33 evaporator Slim from tech-pc told me he has heard some users getting load temps just 2 degrees higher than their idling temp, which makes me feel like an idiot.

don't worry m8, got the same problem myself, but I'm only using 2 spacers and use an AMD. Which mobo do you use? Different brands = different temps...
