If you want to get the most out of your CPU, you'll have better luck with overclocking a DFI board

what kind would you suggest.I wasnt looking to spend over 200 cause i also need ram.i saw some nice stuff from corsair.quote:At nearly 438MHz, the new Corsair 3500LL PRO is the first to address the need for high memory density at extremely low latency.the XMS-3500LL PRO is optimized to unleash more AMD based system performance than the competition.2-3-2-6 1t.

try to get memory with Samsung TCCD chips, able to do CL2 2-2-5 1T at 200-210Mhz, that's enough you need to OC

nForce4 SLI from DFI will be fine also, unless you like to "mod" a bit, than the none-SLI nForce4 from DFI is an option also as it can be modified to SLI capabilities (search Anandtech for their article)

do you have the manual that came with your board? it should contain a BIOS config portion, if you don't find HTT/LDT multiplier setting in there, than most likely your motherboard's BIOS does not support/allow it.

only thing i could find something like that is cpu ratio i can set that anywhere from "startup-default and x4 at 800 all the way up to x20 at 4000 but it wont let me go past x9 at 1800.so i just left it at startup and changed cpu frequency from 200 to now at 245 which gave me 2.2 gig

nope, that's the multiplier of the CPU
seems you don't have the needed tweaks to run high HTT/FSB speeds on your board

With 4x512, you will have to set 2T in CPC, and with 3-4-4-8 timing you will only slow down your system. Your question has been answered as Jmke outlined. Do what you want, it is your system

You don't need water cooling for your system;money saved could be invested on a good vcard; still have money left, go for low latency memory or a good motherboard. That is our recommendation.
